Wow, it’s been 8 months ago since I last logged in here. I don’t even remember my password. What’s been happening here?
Second day of exchange student orientation. The VU group did not attend the morning session. Instead, we went to the Student Staff Retreat for the morning. The rest of the day was spent on watching scary videos from the war in Mexico, insurance matters and ID card applications and payments. The highlight of the day was the lunch where we were provided with stereotypical American food. We had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, which surprisingly, is made from actual jelly, like the jiggly kind, and not jam which I originally thought, chips (Doritos Cool Ranch flavor, Fritos, Cheetos that are shaped like Twisties, Sun Chips, smiliar to Grain Waves), chocolate chip cookies, Oreos, and Capri Suns.
Hot weather the whole day in El Paso, but it rained a bit early in the night. Finally got some groceries worthy of cooking and not sandwiches and take away. Can’t wait for tomorrow for the last orientation and classes on Monday. :)
I love airplanes. What I hate now, as I have come to realise, are connecting flights, timezone differences and the incredibly painful pounding headache you get when you haven’t slept for 24 hours while 38,000 feet up in the air. Can we pretend that airplane rides are comfy?

After watching Harry Potter 7.2 (finally!), we went to the city to take some pictures. I lost some of them ‘cause I am very eager when shift+delete-ing things. Anyway, I’ll make up for it soon…

I have this big craving to bake some scones since my friend, Olivia, posted some homemade ones on Facebook. I don’t have an oven at home, so I planning on making these when go to UTEP, since the unit there has one.
I found this recipe on the net. It looks easy enough to me.
Farewell, Australia.
We had a little send off/welcome afternoon tea for the exchange students. Including me. I took the cake home so I can get a decent picture of it. :)
